Our most popular project template is a Five Day Short Film Course.

 

Day one of the course gives an introduction to the project and we examine some script examples from famous films. The young people then storyboard how they would direct the scene and then get a chance to work on the script for their film. In the afternoon, they get hands on with the filmmaking equipment, learning how to operate it through a series of fun exercises.

 

Days two, three and four of the course are spent shooting the film. The young people rotate through the different roles as they work to ensure that everyone gets a chance to have a go at each job.

 

Day five is spent on post-production. This involves recording any narration required or any ADR (automated dialogue replacement – for when the sound recorded on set needs replacing) as well as editing some of the film. The young people also examine famous film posters and each make one for their own film. Each young person is also interviewed about the project on film which can be used for evaluation and as DVD extras.

 

Each young person gets a copy of their film on DVD as well as an AQA Unit Award accreditation for their work.
